We run a series of events throughout the year, sometimes organised by the pub, sometimes by some of our regulars. All are welcome to join in, please contact the person connected to the event for further information.
Every first and third Monday of the month we host an evening of traditional board games. Chess, draughts, cribbage, shove ha'penny and dominos are amongst the games available. All are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. The evening kicks off around 7 pm. Please contact Anna, the Bar Manager, for further details.
A bit like the Ryder Cup but with more cheating...and more cider. Each February the regulars from Midford Road play golf against a team of regulars not from Midford Road. The game takes place at Royal Entry Hill and usually takes place in the morning, with lunch back at the pub an then rugby internationals in the afternoon. The first year the Packhorse won, the second year Midford Road covered themselves in glory. Team Captains are Paddy and Nigel, please contact them if you might be interested. This especially applies to people playing off scratch handicaps who do not live on Midford road as I am not putting up with Paddy's glee at winning for a second year in succession.
Richard is organising a pub team to be entered into the Bath Half. We currently have 10 runners confirmed. We will be doing one communal training run per week, starting December. As we get closer to the event this will increase in frequency, distance and pain. Contact Richard or Stephen if interested.
